Why car breakdown insurance?

One of the most infinite questions that someone will ask of themselves as well as anyone who will listen to them is, why live in fear? Fear of the unexpected is, after all, highly irrational and it's often better to go with the line of thinking that says, the only thing that is inevitable is death and taxes. That's why people are inclined to take some really unreasonable chances in life and when it comes to the delicate matter of insurance, only really take the policies that they are legally bound to take. These are the people who scoff at the very notion of car breakdown insurance, stating that it can't happen to them and if it does they will manage. Some of them go through their motoring lives as if protected by the forces of their self belief, and nothing happens to them.

There are people who will never know that sinking feeling of having their car break down, insured or otherwise. There are a lot more who have gone through that sinking feeling twice. Once when their car does break down and immediately afterwards when they realize that they don't have any car breakdown insurance.

If and when that moment arrives, the uninsured usually always fall into two categories. One will keep that stiff upper lip that made Britain famous and do their best to extricate themselves from the unpleasant situation that they have found themselves in. And they might even get lucky. They might have found themselves in a place and at a time when a roadside recovery expert is on easy beck and call, and will be at the scene of the breakdown in minutes, bearing a flask of freshly made coffee and some exquisitely cut triangular sandwiches for their client to nibble upon as they rapidly carry out the necessary repairs to get the car running again. This can happen, but the chances are low. Instead the statistics show an increasingly frustrated and helpless care owner feverishly dialing around to find someone, anyone, to come out and look at the inanimate lump of metal and plastic that not so long ago was a motor car.

So the next time that you ask yourself "Why car breakdown insurance?" picture that scene and you will understand why." Why take the chance of being stranded somewhere far from home without an answer, or ability to provide comfort and security for your loved ones.
