In the last few weeks, there must have been a very large number of UK drivers who have finally discovered how important it is to have breakdown cover. Before the recent weather conditions had forced them to discover that trusting in their own abilities to extricate themselves from a roadside breakdown situation was not such a smart idea.

And when they do, they invariably discover that the sole intention of an alarmingly large proportion of these companies is to take advantage of their customer's situation to make as much easy profit as they can.

The first decision that car owners need to make is that they if they don't have car breakdown insurance, that they need to. Once they have gotten past that stage they will need to choose the company based on the assumption that the day will come when one day they will need to take advantage of having the cover.
